Your Website Chat Widget
You can customize how your website chat widget looks and behaves directly from your Annie dashboard. Follow the steps below to update your chat settings at any time.
Accessing Chat Widget Settings
Log in to your Annie Dashboard.
Click Settings in the left-hand menu.
Select Website Chat Widget.
From here, you can manage installation, behavior, and styling options for your chat widget.
Installation Settings
Embed Script
If you haven’t installed the widget yet (or need to reinstall it):
Copy the provided embed script.
Paste it near the top of your website’s
<body>tag.Save and publish your website.
If you’re using Wix, Squarespace, or WordPress, look for a Custom Code or Header/Footer Scripts section.
Domain Authorization
For security reasons, the chat widget only loads on approved domains.
Go to Settings → Security.
Add your website domain (for example:
yourpractice.com).Save your changes.
Initial Load Behavior
Control what visitors see when the chat widget first loads.
Pre-Chat Form
Enable this to collect a visitor’s name and phone number before starting a chat.
Toggle the setting on or off depending on your preference.
Default Widget Status
Choose how the widget appears when your site loads.
Desktop Settings
Open: Widget opens automatically.
Closed: Widget stays minimized.
Preview: Widget shows a preview state.
Mobile Settings
You can set a different default behavior for mobile visitors using the same options.
✅ Tip: Preview is an ideal setting for your mobile visitors.
Widget Delay
Set a delay (in seconds) before the widget appears.
Leave this field blank for no delay.
Styling Options
Primary Color
Use the color picker or enter a hex code to match your brand.
Changes update the chat widget’s main buttons and accents.
Click Save to apply any styling changes.
Testing Your Changes
After updating your settings:
Visit your website.
Refresh the page.
Look for the chat widget in the corner and send a test message.
If everything loads correctly, you’re all set!

Clear your browser cache
Make sure your website changes are published
